Šenkárka Spring is a forest spring in the Little Carpathians. It is located above the Bratislava district of Rača, near Biely Kríž. This spring belongs to the type of mountain springs that, besides providing fresh water, can serve as an unusual destination for a short trip. It is a great choice for anyone seeking easy hiking or a shorter excursion when there isn’t time for a longer adventure.

Šenkárka Spring is not located directly on a marked hiking trail, but a forest road leads to it, so it can be reached relatively easily on foot or by bike. A mountain or trekking bike is preferable, though it is also possible to reach it by road bike if you use the asphalt road from Rača.
The spring is accessible via a turn-off about 1,5 km from Biely Kríž, where you descend from the blue hiking trail leading into Rača. The spring is usually marked on tourist maps and is easy to find on the ground.
This spring is a rewarding destination for a short trip. It is located in a beautiful Little Carpathian forest above Bratislava, specifically above Rača, making it an ideal location for a short outing when time is limited.
You can reach the spring via the mentioned hiking trail and forest road without difficulty, although you will need to climb from Rača almost up to the main ridge of the Little Carpathians. The asphalt road and hiking path run parallel, so you can choose whichever suits you best.
The spring is nestled under trees and covered with a small roof. A small stream, called Šenkárka, flows from it. The water is officially non-potable, but information about the last water test and its results is usually available on site.
The hike to Šenkárka Spring is suitable for a wide range of fitness levels. For trained hikers, it is just an easy walk, but it can also serve as a nice goal for a running workout. For families with children, it can be a pleasant half-day trip.
Seniors should also be able to manage the trail at a reasonable pace. Using the asphalt road, it is even possible to reach the spring with a stroller or bike trailer, though some uphill pushing will be required.
Visiting Šenkárka Spring can be pleasantly combined with a stop at Biely Kríž, where you can rest and enjoy refreshments on a lovely meadow.
