Dolný Červený Kríž is a meadow and wooden cross in the Little Carpathians above Rača District in Bratislava, located along the main ridge trail on the red hiking route, just below the summit of Veľká Baňa (444 m n. m.).

Traditionally, it has been a popular spot for active relaxation, barbecues, or as a hiking destination. The area features a large wooden shelter and multiple fire pits, and a cross at the edge of the meadow gives the place its name.
Although there are several access routes, the most practical way to reach Dolný Červený Kríž is on foot or by mountain bike from the Rača Amphitheater via the green trail through Zbojníčka Spring, then continuing along the red trail to the meadow. The hike takes about one hour on foot and is not difficult – a pleasant walk through the forest. The amphitheater has a large parking lot for those arriving by car.
The meadow is ideal for a family outing, combining hiking, barbecuing, and outdoor games. It’s a great destination for active seniors or anyone who enjoys spending time in nature. The area is non-commercial and very peaceful – there is no café or snack bar, so visitors should bring their own supplies.
Several fire pits are available, including one sheltered from the weather in the wooden shelter. The meadow also has several wooden seating areas with tables, and even latrines. In short, it’s a perfect spot for spending a beautiful day in nature.
