Vajspeter Reservoir is a romantic body of water – a small dam located above the Krasňany Area, near the popular hiking trail Pekná Cesta Street, which is well-loved by Bratislava residents.

The reservoir lies in the vineyards above Rača District and makes an attractive destination for a suburban nature escape. Swimming and fishing are prohibited, but it is still a rewarding goal for a walk. The reservoir was originally built in 1974 on the Vajspeterský Stream to serve as an irrigation source for the local vineyards.
There are several ways to reach Vajspeter Reservoir. A convenient option is to park along Pekná Cesta Street near Slovenská Grafia and continue on foot through the vineyards along the Račiansky Stream. At the point where the Vajspeterský Stream flows into it, turn left toward the Little Carpathians.
The turn is near a farm building. The vineyard path will lead directly to the lake. The area still retains its original charm, though minor improvements such as wooden benches have been added. The reservoir is nestled in the forest, which enhances its tranquil atmosphere.
The walk to Vajspeter Reservoir is suitable for families, seniors, and all nature lovers. The only potential challenge is in the height of summer heat, as the route passes entirely through open vineyards with little shade.
By studying a map, you can plan walks of varying length, even extending into the Little Carpathians toward Spariská or Biely Kríž. The trails can be combined in different ways. Nearby attractions include the popular meadow with a playground, snack bar, and forester’s lodge along Pekná Cesta Street, although this area can be crowded. These locations are also excellent for mountain biking.
