Kamzík, at 439 meters above sea level, is a popular peak in the Little Carpathians and one of the most visited recreational areas for residents of Bratislava. Its moderate elevation offers countless opportunities to enjoy nature close to the busy city, including walks, running, cycling, cross-country skiing in winter, and sledding.

Children will enjoy the playground, while nearby fitness equipment, a treetop rope course, and a summer bobsled track provide fun for all ages. In the past, ski jumping ramps were also located here. Visitors can find popular snack bars and even a rotating restaurant in the well-known TV tower, which offers some of the best views of Bratislava and the surrounding region. Designated fire pits are available for BBQ.
Kamzík is accessible via several hiking trails from all directions, making it easy to reach on foot, though some effort is required. The journey can be made easier by public transport, which terminates near the “Slamenná búda” pavilion close to the peak.
Cars can also reach the area, but parking is limited and traffic jams are common, especially on weekends. Bicycles, including road bikes, can use the well-maintained asphalt roads to reach the summit. Due to its quick accessibility from the city, Kamzík is an excellent destination even during the workweek for a short nature escape.
Kamzík and its surroundings, particularly the equally popular Železná Studnička recreation area, are ideal for spending free time for children, seniors, and athletes alike. Those who prefer quieter areas should avoid visiting on weekends, as it can get very crowded.
Outside peak times, however, Kamzík can be experienced almost entirely alone. Just below the summit, on the meadow called Americké Námestie, a wooden observation tower provides panoramic views, making it a perfect spot for photography and relaxing in nature.
