The Statue of the Napoleonic Soldier is part of the collection of sculptures that enrich the historic center of Bratislava’s Old Town and is among the city’s most popular attractions. This particular statue is located on Hlavné Námestie (Main Square) in front of the French Embassy.

Statue of a Napoleonic Soldier – Bratislava

The soldier is leaning against a bench, directly under the French flag. The statue has even faced acts of vandalism, when it was uprooted from the ground, but it has since been restored to its original place. It is a perfect object for photos.

A pleasant walk through the city center will lead you to the Napoleonic Soldier Statue, as long as the area is not crowded with tourists. You can reach it easily from any public transport stop. If you come by car, the quickest option is to park in one of the underground garages, although this is expensive.

Cheaper parking is available on regular streets, but these spots are almost always occupied – better chances are later in the evening or on weekend mornings. The statue is easy to find on Hlavné Námestie, almost in the heart of Bratislava, right by the French Embassy, with the soldier leaning against a bench.

While you are there, it’s worth also visiting the even more popular statues of Schöne Náci and Čumil. They are just a few meters away on Rybárska Brána Street and are definitely worth seeing. Likewise, the Maximilian Fountain, located directly on Hlavné Námestie next to the soldier, is another local highlight.
