Observation Decks at the National Council of the Slovak Republic – Bratislava

Access is easy, allowing visitors to enjoy a panorama that stretches primarily to the west, over the Danube, Petržalka, and even into Austria, as well as parts of the riverside and area around the castle.

You can reach the viewpoints easily by public transport, car, on foot, or by bicycle. A pleasant option is to take a short walking tour through the Bratislava Castle grounds or explore the interesting Strmá Cesta street.

If walking isn’t ideal, public transport stops very close to the parliament. Parking is also available in the paid underground garage on Palisády, or you can look for street parking nearby. From there, it takes only a few minutes on foot to reach the observation areas near the parliament—just head toward the parliament restaurant.

The views from the National Council building are surprisingly impressive. Its location on the Castle Hill allows excellent sightlines to the western horizon, castle district, the Danube River, the Petržalka district, Austria, and the Hainburg area. It’s also a nice spot to watch sunsets, and sometimes you may encounter other tourists drawn by the nearby Bratislava Castle.

Thanks to its accessibility, a walk to the parliament viewpoints is suitable for all visitors and is relatively short and easy. You can combine it with visits to nearby attractions, particularly Bratislava Castle and its baroque gardens, or a slightly longer walk to Horský Park and Slavín Memorial.
