The Bratislava Meridian is a relatively understated attraction on the Danube Promenade, near the SNP Bridge in the direction of the Lanfranconi Bridge. It is a small concrete prism on the right side of the promenade, marking the meridian that passes through this location.

Geographically, the meridian is located at 17°06′ east longitude. It is also known as the Pressburg Meridian or Meridianus Posoniensis.
In the early 18th century, cartographers lacked a local meridian as a reference point, so Samuel Mikovíni established the Pressburg Meridian for this purpose. It effectively served as a zero meridian, with its origin at the northeast tower of Bratislava Castle, which rises directly above this spot.
Today, it is a nice stop for a short walk from the city center. You can also pause here while cycling, scooter riding, or walking with a stroller. It is suitable for all ages, especially if you are short on time or simply enjoying a walk along the promenade.
From the raised concrete section, resembling a boundary stone, a longer line composed of several segments stretches across the pathway, symbolizing the meridian.
